Creating an open-concept chef’s kitchen and living space with Tuscan flair
In most homes, the kitchen is the gathering space—and for this family it was no different.
The existing kitchen was dated, cramped and lacked basic functionality such as ample prep space, good task lighting and updated appliances. This remodel changed all that.

For the kitchen cabinets, the homeowners chose Medallion Gold Series Rushmore Raised Panel in Maple. To create slight contrast, we used Morel-raw Umber Glaze and Highlight on the island and Harvest Bronze Ebony Glaze and Highlight on small island and perimeter cabinets.

With their love to entertain friends and family, multiple seating options were necessary. A custom-built bench created casual seating for everyday meals at the large island. And since we were replacing all of the original windows and doors (Architect Series by Pella) throughout the space, we took the opportunity to increase the size of the window above the kitchen sink creating more light.
A dramatic countertop of Fusion Quartzite was the perfect choice to add color to the room.
This chef’s kitchen wouldn’t be complete without all the bells and whistles. The appliances included a 60” Wolf range, a warming drawer, steam oven, microwave, built-in coffee maker and 48” Subzero fridge. A desk was also a priority, which we designed along with added storage.
Some of the extras on the cabinets are trash pullouts at both islands, tray organization, wall spice cabinets, pots and pan storage, cutlery organization, and of course roll-out trays wherever possible. Custom lighted display cabinetry in the island provides a space to highlight the homeowners’ collectibles.
This open-concept renovation completely changed the dynamic of the home’s entire first floor.

This Tuscan-inspired kitchen not only has all the modern amenities but also that old world charm, bringing to life a cooking and entertaining space that these homeowners dreamt about. It was a pleasure working with them to see it come to fruition.
