Updating the kitchen in their 1980s Colonial, the homeowners’ vision was a sleek, fresh and contemporary space that blurred the lines between the kitchen and adjoining family room to create an open and airy feel.
The new layout included a four foot addition; a new, larger window over the sink; replacing the existing single door with a full sliding glass door; and eliminating the planning desk. The homeowners went with a white-on-white color scheme with warm bamboo flooring. The new kitchen features professional-grade appliances, a walk-in pantry with tons of storage, farmhouse and bar sinks, custom cabinetry with Shaker insets, a combo oven and microwave under the TV, a full-height wine refrigerator and an espresso finish on the island cabinetry—a beautiful way to visually break up the white space.
