This is the final blog in a series that gives you a behind-the-scenes look at a recent project managed by Dover Home Remodelers; the series details the challenges, solutions and the customer selections and design style that inspired this beautiful master bathroom renovation.
Moving on to bigger, brighter spaces, this final blog picks up where I left off…
The new bathroom layout eliminated wasted space that had been consumed by the oversized tub, stairs and display area. We took the subway tile installed on the tub deck and extended it into the shower to create an in-shower seat and a clean, cohesive look. For flooring, we used a contemporary woodgrain tile in light weathered grey.
The small shower stall was removed, making room for spacious floor-to-ceiling linen closets with pull-out drawers for lots of added storage.
The new split vanity featured white shaker cabinets with sleek grey quartz countertops; a center-installed upper cabinet provided the storage they needed to eliminate surface clutter. Smart, salon-style cabinetry was installed to house curling irons and hair dryers with always-plugged-in convenience.
The result was a fresh, functional, contemporary master bathroom with a designer vibe that completely exceeded homeowner expectations—and gave her the “spectacular” bathroom she envisioned.
