Spa-Like Primary Bath
In 2022, natural, spa-like surfaces and serene aesthetics are leading trends in bathroom remodeling—and this primary bathroom renovation hits right on the mark. Open, airy design, clean lines, sleek surfaces and lavish natural light create a relaxing, upscale vibe. It’s exactly what these homeowners wanted in their new primary bathroom space.
In our last blog, we focused on the bathroom’s updated layout and the new oversized shower. This week, we’ll move on to other areas and elements of this owner’s bathroom renovation. But first, here’s a look at where we started—and how we finished.
The primary bathroom before & after:
The Updated Primary Bathroom Vanity
The old bathroom space had grown tired: dark cabinetry and surfaces and poor lighting made the vanity area feel cave-like.
We gave the space a complete refresh, while helping the homeowners stretch their budget.
They decided to paint their existing vanity cabinets and drawers white. We installed granite surfaces in Caledonia to match the shower. Built-in organization features like rollouts and bins make excellent use of the space for everyday functionality. Undermount Kohler sinks provide a sleek, uninterrupted surface area for a clean look. And Moen faucets, hardware and light fixtures in brushed nickel finish complete the double vanity’s upgrade.
Updating the Primary Bathroom Built-In Tub
The old Jacuzzi tub in the owner’s suite bathroom was big, bulky and inefficient. The homeowners wanted a more stylish, sleek built-in soaking tub to flow with the updated shower design.
We designed the new soaking tub as an extension of the contemporary, open shower. The homeowners chose a Kohler Archer drop-in tub and selected Moen fixtures in brushed nickel to match.
To create harmony, shower tile selections are on repeat: American Olean tile in Sunset Falls continues from inside the shower to wrap the tub base and deck. Emser tile in HANGAR is the accent.
To give the new bathroom improved lighting, we installed can lights throughout the space. For durability and beauty, we used 100% waterproof Mannington Luxury Vinyl Plank flooring Legacy in white with grey, 12” x 24”. The new flooring stretches from the main bathroom into the linen closet and separate toilet room.
The old builder-grade bathroom is gone! The new primary bathroom has a soothing, classic vibe — a timeless style that beautifully reflects the owners and provides the ease and functionality that makes the space a pleasure to use every day.
