Less clutter and more functionality: The new kitchen with designer flair
I’ll start this final post in the series with before and after photos to frame the references about this fabulous kitchen renovation project…

The homeowners set out to create a fresh, sophisticated vibe in their new kitchen—and they did just that by selecting a beautiful, calming palette with a balanced blend of warm materials and sleek finishes. The custom cabinets are stained a medium gray (several stains were mixed and tested before we arrived at the right tone) with granite surfaces in White Springs.
Instead of a separate cooktop and ovens, they chose a multi-purpose range: GE Café Slide-In, Dual Fuel for its contemporary profile and functionality. The new range wall offers extensive prep space and – unlike the old design – an exhaust hood vented to the exterior.
With most of the kitchen remaining neutral, the homeowner decided on a beautiful focal point using art glass: She designed a custom glass tile inlay above the range. The tile design was her own, sourced by Edgewater Studios and installed by Dover. This piece elevates the space with unique, signature style.
The inlay is surrounded by white glass tile.
Hardwood flooring was toothed in where needed and the flooring was refinished throughout the home creating a clean, seamless flow from one room to the next.
The finished project is stunning. Without adding square footage or even removing walls, we were able to create a more open and functional space with a sleek, modern design. The homeowners said it best: “We absolutely love it! There is nothing we would change.”
