A modern-day dream home—more than 100 years in the making
Picking up where I left off last week…
This busy family of four needed a fourth bedroom to give them added space to spread out and comfortably host overnight guests. A big priority in this renovation was the new master suite.
We started by removing the enclosed porch on the second floor, giving us the entry to the new master suite addition.
Before:
The fabulous new bedroom space was created with a dramatic studio ceiling, which we designed to mimic the home’s existing roof lines. (Bedroom paint: feature wall, Benjamin-Moore 2128-30 Evening Dove/main walls, Sherwin-Williams 7656 Rhinestone)
After:
The master suite totals 12’ 5.5” x 23’ 5.5” of space and includes a large walk-in closet and master bathroom. The bathroom consists of a double vanity with a quartz countertop and large format floor tile that replicates Carrera marble (Classic Calacatta 12 x 24, Porcelain).
In the shower, we used white subway tile accented with penny mosaic tile (Shaw Elegance Hexagon Mosaic, White). The white tiles were offset with a warm grey grout (Hydroment DeLorean Gray).
With the addition complete, this family was thrilled with their new living space. The husband reflected positively on the project and said, “This addition has affected our lives in so many positive ways!” It was wonderful to be part of helping them create their “forever” home.
Thank you for following along on this renovation/home addition walkthrough.
