Our team at Dover was thrilled to be honored by NARI with a Contractor of the Year (CotY) Award for a kitchen renovation completed for our customer in Strongsville. Enjoy the final installment of this three-part guest blog series by designer Chika Aizu that takes you on a project walkthrough, with details about our design challenges and solutions—and photos that bring this bright, beautiful family kitchen to life.
With the open concept in mind, Dover still needed a way to visually define spaces in this new kitchen area. Perfectly aligned knee walls with gorgeous, 2-tier quartz countertops and custom cabinetry were used to define the kitchen space while maintaining the visual and open-flow feeling into the family room and foyer.
In order to create that seamless flow, two angled knee walls were designed to line up with each other. This required strategic planning for cabinetry that provided functionality and accessories the homeowner wanted, as well as skilled carpentry work to perfectly place them in consideration of finish dimensions.
The result is a uniquely custom, expansive kitchen—and family gathering space—that combines aesthetic, functionality and amenities that perfectly suit the homeowners’ modern lifestyles, with polish and panache.

All The Best,
