A wise consumer knows what to expect from a purchase. We take many purchases for granted. For example, it’s likely you’ve purchased many pairs of shoes, even several cars. So you know what to expect.
Unlike shoes or cars, when you undertake a home remodeling project there’s often little past experience to help you understand the whole process.
Home remodeling is a major undertaking, and at Dover Home Remodelers, we’d like to help you understand the whole process and what to expect. In this post, I’ve included the first of two “Dialogs with Dover” videos on the topic, which will likely help you know what to expect from your remodeling contractor, even before a brick is laid or a hammer is struck.
A good example of home remodeling expectations from the client’s perspective is outlined in this funny but smart article from National Association of Homebuilders (NAHB).
The writer sums up the roller coaster image when he states, “At the start of the process, you are very excited. A beautiful creation is underway! You are with ‘happy endorphins’ and feel certain things will be rosy throughout the process. As things progress, a few… bumps crop up…, but you work through them, knowing the final result will be worth it.”
A good contractor will help you understand the process, which should assure you that the end result is worth it. When you work with an experienced and understanding remodeling partner those bumps are small in contrast with the end result… a beautiful new addition to your home.
