Those who braved the elements this past weekend found themselves warming up to home improvement ideas, hot new fixtures and products at the 33rd Annual NARI Home Improvement Show. While the crowds this year were not as sizeable as those in the past (particularly during the cold early-morning hours), we did see that the people who were out, were there with intention.
At the Dover Home Remodelers’ booth, we met with new/potential customers—many of whom brought in photos and sketches of their kitchens and bathrooms for input and design recommendations. Having our designers available to consult definitely helped to make the show more productive. These customers were able to gather a wealth of information—from design ideas, to paint colors, to new product offerings—all in one place. We generated about 30-40 new leads from the show and are now looking forward to following up with these homeowners to further discuss their renovation project ideas when they are ready to take the next steps.
A highlight of the NARI show for me was enjoying the presentations by HGTV’s Kitchen Cousins. The Cousins, Anthony Carrino and John Colaneri, reviewed some of their hallmark renovation projects and also talked about their ongoing effort to team up with The Ellen DeGeneres Show to surprise deserving homeowners with much-needed home improvements. These innovative designers are very good at what they do—and the Community Hero project is very inspiring. Listening to them talk about that effort does reinforce to me that what we do as designers and remodelers makes a huge impact in the lives of our customers. That encouraging sentiment definitely sets the tone for us here at Dover as we look to help our turn our customers’ dreams into reality during this new year ahead.
The best is yet to come,
