Downsizing + remodeling get these homeowners exactly what they want in their new home, including an updated owner’s suite with a comfortable, relaxed vibe.
A smaller home that’s big on style and functionality: Dover helped create an all-new owner’s suite, maximizing the budget by working within the existing footprint while bringing the homeowners’ design visions to life.
The Owner’s Suite: Before
The existing bathroom was past its prime: the large soaking tub consumed most of the bathroom space, making it feel cramped. The homeowners wanted a more simplified and sophisticated bathroom and owner’s suite with an oversized shower, a refreshed vanity with new fixtures and more storage.
The Owner’s Suite: After
Removing the soaking tub, stall shower and wall makes room for the oversized shower. The window above the old soaking tub is replaced with a transom window above the new shower for natural light and privacy.
Custom and stock cabinetry upgrade the vanities, keeping the same orientation. Smaller-trimmed mirrors look more polished and allow room for artwork. Under the vanities, drawers and rollouts provide easy-access storage, with neutral colors and fixtures throughout to create a calm, serene aesthetic.
Removing the wall between the original tub and shower allows us to expand the closet space. Custom cabinetry with hanging rods, drawers and shelves maximize every square inch and meet exact wardrobe needs.
The original bedroom had a sliding glass door that opened onto a backyard deck. The homeowners chose to remove the door to make the space private and cozy. We closed the wall, added a transom window higher on the wall to let in natural light and finished the space with new carpeting, paint, custom trim work and light fixture.
