We’ve been very fortunate over the years to be able to attract and retain good people at Dover. Truly, our employees here are more like family, and as such, there is a great deal of time, thought and effort that goes into every new hire that we bring on as a part of our team. Not only are we looking for quality people, we also want Dover to be the ideal fit—both for us and for them.
In 2013, we set out to increase our new-business leads by 100—and we reached that goal. With the resulting workflow, we were able to justify growing our staff, so we began searching to find the right people to make our team at Dover even stronger. I’m pleased to introduce you to two incredibly talented and dedicated individuals who are the newest additions to our Dover family:
JAYME SPAIN came on board in June 2013 as one of our carpenters. In this line of work, experience is a differentiator—and clearly when you see his work, it’s no surprise that Jayme has been working as a carpenter for 36 years: His attention to detail is unmatched and his skill delights our clients time and time again. Jayme has been married to his wife, Suzanne, for 35 years and they live in New London. They have two daughters, Jennifer and April, and five grandchildren. In his spare time, Jayme is an avid hunter and enjoys spending time with his growing family.
CHIKA AIZU was hired in February 2014 as a designer. Born and raised in Tokyo, Japan, Chika earned her B.A. degree here in the U.S. at Oberlin College. She grew up in the construction business: For more than 50 years her grandfather and father have owned and operated a mechanical and electrical contracting company that specializes in mass transit and subway systems in Tokyo. That family tradition was appealing to her—and she also had the natural eye for design—which helped to dictate her career path. For the past several years, Chika has managed multiple commercial historic restoration projects in Northeast Ohio. She and her husband live in Brecksville with their two cats. In her spare time, Chika enjoys cooking, doing crafts, Salsa dancing and spending time with her family.
I’m hopeful that you’ll get the chance to meet Jayme and Chika. You’ll see why we are so thrilled to have them working alongside us here at Dover.
The best is yet to come,
Beth Orr
